About me

Sometimes, the greatest sports stories are never told.

That’s because they often happen on dimly lit fields or off-the-beaten-path gymnasiums and are performed by individuals who are barely old enough to drive cars. On second thought, some aren’t even that old!

I’m Joel Coleman and, to me, high school sports matter. They mattered to me as a kid. They mattered even more to me when I suited up in the blue and gold colors of Ackerman High as a teen. And they matter to me now.

It’s my goal to tell the stories of the young men and women of this area that otherwise might not be told. I want to honor the many hours of hard work that are put into the games these youth play by covering their games as premier sporting events. Because they are.

Yes, high school sports matter. And if they matter to you too, then you’ve come to the right place. I hope you enjoy reading about the teams of this area as much as I’ll enjoy covering them. And if you have any comments, questions, concerns, etc., feel free to share.
