The first day of action was good. Aberdeen was not able to hold on to their lead and lost to East High School (Tenn.) 80-73. East took their first lead of the game late in the fourth quarter and made free throws down the stretch to ice it.
Starkville had no problems with Strong (Ark.) in the final game. They blew them out 74-27. Coach Greg Carter got to rest all of his starters for most of the second half.
In today’s action we have New Hope and East Oktibbeha at 3 p.m., Jackson Olin (Al.) and Columbus at 4:30 p.m., East and Strong and 6 p.m., and Carroll (La.) and Starkville at 7:30 p.m.
Should be a good day of action.
